Coffee and travel

With the COVID-19 pandemic still affecting our society, we’ve come to miss a lot of activities that come with working in coffee. Among those activities has been travel. With restrictions and various travel bans, we’ve been at home and at our cafe with limited opportunities to travel abroad for coffee. Travel is a huge part of our success and what makes us Colombia Coffee Roasters. With trips to origin and the experiences we bring back, we figured why not reminisce and discuss the beauties that traveling to origin has brought us.

Colombia

For obvious reasons, one of our favorite origins to travel to is Colombia. It’s a country that is at the core of who we are and it brings us great pleasure to be working with special producers from that part of the world. Colombia is a coffee producing country that has a beautiful landscape and a textbook environment that calls for coffee to be produced. It’s an origin where we and our coffees thrive.

Due to border closures, we’ve been unable to visit Colombia and have been limited with opportunities to continue working with our producing partners to improve coffee quality. However, be sure that once it is safe to do so, we will be on a plane to Colombia visiting our producers and bringing you some of the best coffees.

Community and Culture

When traveling, community and culture is an incredibly important part of what makes travel so beautiful. While we typically travel for coffee, the producers we meet and the coffee professionals that join us truly create a unique community and culture that goes beyond borders. Our travels have allowed us to create, build, and strengthen relationships that not only helps us succeed but others succeed as well.

While social distancing measures have caused us to rethink how we interact with our friends and family, our past travels have taught us that it doesn’t matter where we are or what we are facing in the world because we will have those relationships at the end of the day. It’s those relationships that we have built while traveling for coffee that has allowed us to bring you the coffees we have today.

Experience

To us, traveling is nothing without experience. Our experiences in origin are truly unique and embody the values and traditions we bring to our coffee. We hope that with our past experiences in origin, we can help create an experience for you at home or at our cafe that is similar to what we have experienced in origin. We hope that through our coffees, you’ll taste the work put in by our producers and roaster and experience the flavor notes that are unique and definitive to our origins.
